Transport for local people
Hinckley & Bosworth Community Transport have been in operation for over 25 years and are an independent local charity providing affordable transport services, helping to achieve social change for the community of the Hinckley & Bosworth area (click on map for detailed area).
We are based in Hinckley Health Centre, Hill Street, Hinckley and:
- Provide safe, accessible, cost-
effective, flexible transport run for the community mobilising and engaging with local communities and as a charity we harness the experience and energy of volunteers who give freely of their time to help others.
- We provide an essential, responsive service for a wide range of people -
often the most vulnerable in society. These are people who cannot use or do not have access to cars, taxis or buses and who depend on us to get the services and the social activities they require.
- We are a ‘lifeline’ to many residents. Providing transport for elderly and disabled passengers to health and hospital outpatient appointments, shopping, hairdressers, visits to friends and relatives, lunch clubs, volunteering etc with our Dial a Ride service (volunteers using their own cars) and also provision for elderly and disabled passengers to access our 16 seater Minibus to access shopping, day and lunch trips and for groups to hire our vehicle (with driver).
- We are partly funded by Leicestershire County Council, passenger income and fundraising and donations.
