Dial a Ride
Dial a Ride is a door to door social car scheme for those living in the Hinckley & Bosworth area. If you don’t have a car of your own or have difficulty using public transport, the scheme can help take you to health/hospital appointments, social events/lunch clubs, visiting relatives/friends, shopping, hairdressers, leisure centre or somewhere you’d like to visit. Just ask and we will do our best to help.We have a bank of volunteer drivers who use their own cars for these journeys so please give us at least 2/3 working days notice before you’d like to travel and we’ll do our best to arrange it. We can’t always guarantee a volunteer will be available so the more notice you give us the better (up to 3 weeks in advance).
If you’d like to bring an escort or have any special equipment such as a folding walking frame or wheelchair, please let us know when you book your journey.
What you need to know:
- Dial a Ride is for the elderly and disabled.
- Residents of the Hinckley & Bosworth area.
- Charges are dependant where you are going to, and from and the length of your journey.
- You do not need to pay the driver, payment can be made by cash, or cheque made payable to HBCT or directly into our bank account (email us for details)
- You need to book in advance we are not like a taxi service.
- To be able to utilise the Dial a Ride service we require you to register with Hinckley & Bosworth Community Transport. (Click here for our Registration Form)
